- SPEAKING SECTION ASSESSMENT CRITERIA The total score for this part is 2 points 1. Fluency and coherence (0,5pt): These refer to Ss’ ability to talk with normal levels of continuity, speech rate and effort and to link ideas and language together in coherent, connected speech, and formal structure. 2. Lexical resource (0,5pts): This refers to the range of vocabulary SS can use and how clearly meaning and attitudes can be expressed. 3. Grammatical range and accuracy (0,5pt): - This refers to the range of structures available to the Ss and how accurately and appropriately SS can use them. - Making as few grammatical mistakes as possible. 4. Pronunciation (0,5pt): - Being able to use English pronunciation features like stress and intonation naturally. - Not causing the examiner any problem in understanding what the student is saying.
